I haven’t posted to the saved project for a while, so here is one. I drew this when I was 10 years old (1974) as an entry to the Grande Prairie County Fair. It won me a first ribbon and my first encouragement from the public in drawing, something I loved to do. Following this win, I spent a lot more time practicing and perfecting my skills. Sometimes my parents worried that I was spending too much time in my bedroom, door closed, concentrating at my work station (on the floor). Then, as now, I took whatever time I needed to complete my work, not feeling hungry or tired until I was way beyond either.

Wow! 10 years old. I’m almost 40 wishing I could draw that well.

That’s wonderful work for 10. No wonder you grew up to be an artist.
